Time Management tips to improve productivity

WHAT IS TIME MANAGEMENT

Time management is a challenge for everyone. It's easier to understand how to manage the time you have than the time you don't have.

It would help if you made time for yourself as a business owner and entrepreneur. Whether it is a few minutes of reading, learning, or planning, make time to prioritize self-care.

This resource will help you remove the negative emotions and improve your focus on time.

If you want to improve your productivity, it's essential to figure out what you are doing right and what you could do better. For starters, make sure you use the timer app on your phone to track how long you spend on specific tasks. Once you know exactly where your time is being wasted, you can start planning how to make it.

Make a schedule and stick to it.

If you want to be more productive, make a schedule and stick to it. I have my work calendar set up, so I have two hours daily (morning and afternoon) to work on my watercolor painting. I also block time to work on other projects such as writing blog posts, designing websites, or working on side hustles. My schedule is elementary. I get up at 6 am and get ready for work by 7:30 am.

Schedule your tasks around the times that you tend to be most productive. Don't just decide to write at 9am because that's when your workday starts. Instead, look at your schedule and think about what time you tend to be most productive. If you know you're an early riser, schedule your tasks for the times when you wake up.

Prioritize Work

I believe in getting things done. You should prioritize your tasks and not waste time on something that isn't as important. For example, if you have a meeting at 9 am and an important presentation at 1 pm, you can't get everything done by 10 am, so you should just pick the most essential task to complete.

Once you have completed your most important task, you can start working on the next one. In the same way, you would use your to-do list and make a task list to help you focus on what needs to be done today.

Set up Deadlines

I'm not sure if this is true for everyone, but I find myself distracted by things like housework, chores, or errands that need to be done. If I have a task due, I try to block out an hour or two on my calendar and don't allow anything else to distract me from the task.

This helps me get more work done in less time and is a great way to stay focused. This is one of the most common mistakes people make when setting a deadline. They set a deadline and then think they can just relax until the date arrives.

Break down large tasks into smaller steps

I am giving this tip because when I first learned watercolor painting, I would try to learn everything at once. I wanted to learn the different techniques and how to use them for every project. After I had mastered these skills, I wanted to move on to the next project. However, because of the large amount of time it takes to complete a project, I would have been doing nothing but learning!

It's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the bigger the task, the better the outcome. This is not true! A task that takes you 10 hours to complete is not going to be any better than one that takes 2 hours to complete. Instead, focus on doing one or two things at a time. If you can't get it all done in one day, break it down into manageable pieces.

If you have a limited time to complete something, set a timer or use a stopwatch to ensure you stay on schedule. If you're having trouble keeping yourself on track, write down what you need to do and check off each task as you finish it. This will help you stay on track.

Take breaks

I know it can be hard to take a break when you're working on a deadline, but taking a break is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. You need to give yourself a break from your art and the pressure of trying to create something great.

I know what you're thinking: "I'm so busy. I don't have time to take breaks." Well, I've got the news: I am too busy to take breaks. In fact, I need breaks so that I can be productive.
